API Discrete Preamp

The API 3124+ is a 4-channel mic preamp.

Basic functions

:

  • Potentiometer is the input gain
  • 1/4″ input is for an instrument
  • Yellow button switches the polarity
  • Red button is a phantom power switch
  • Grey button is a -20dB pad switch
  • White button is a mic/instrument input switch

Tips

:

  • Turn down the gain all the way when turning on the phantom power or when powering up.
  • Often used on drums
